We are taking registration for the 2015 Art Journal Class.
If you want to learn some Shabby Chic techniques on a smaller scale, this is the class for you! It will be held once a month starting in JANUARY 2015.
Check back often to see what exciting new things we are planning!
“SHE” Art Canvas – Mixed Media Christy Tomlinson is the mixed media artist who started the “SHE” art phenomenon. The “faceless” girl is her signature. This is a perfect concept because most people struggle with painting faces. You will learn her style while creating a 6×12 canvas.
MONTHLY AWESOME This project is based on a Graphic 45 project that they did for Halloween. It is a super cute large tag mini album with a flip book inside.
“AUTUMN CANVAS” – Mixed Media The canvas is 8×16 and features pumpkins and a raven vertically placed. The picture is a sampling of one of the pumpkins. This is the 4th canvas in a series of 4.
SHABBY CHIC 9 – 12″x12″ layout format
“Shabby Chic” (pronounced Sheek) by definition is: showing signs of wear and tear but with class and style.
Lynn Thune, the instructor, has been perfecting this style of scrapbooking for 18 years or more – before it was even popular! Many unusual items are re-purposed and affixed to the layouts (chenille bedspread material, packing material, corrugated cardboard etc…) You will be introduced to many different techniques during the 20 layout sessions – photo transfers, gel transfers, mixed media, stencils, transparencies, photo strips etc…
The 9th Shabby Chic class starts the week of September 8. YEAH!!!! It has gained in popularity over the past 5 years. In this round of classes you will be doing 20 layouts (1 per week) over a 5 month period – we take a hiatus at Christmas for 2 weeks and 1 week off in September. After all of the layouts (12”x12”) are complete, there will be another class where you build the hardcover album in which your layouts will be showcased.
The classes are $26/layout for members. NOTE: It is required that you are always paid-up for ONE layout in advance. If you will be absent for more than 2 layouts, we would request that you pay for the weeks you will miss so we can make up a kit for you. It’s easy to phone in a credit card number to keep you current.
The same class is offered at 3 different times per week.
