We offer 2 types of classes at The Scrap Yard. A "Membership" is beneficial when taking classes because you receive the member price. Non-members pay twice the amount. Classes are listed at the Member price on the calendar.
1. Open Registration
2. Closed Registration
The Open Registration classes are available for anyone to sign up for during the month that it is offered. The "First Paid, First In" opportunity applies. If you cannot attend the class and have paid for it, you have 2 options: send someone in your place or pick up your kit to do on your own. No refunds.
A Closed Registration class is a specified commitment based class. It might be a weekly class (once a week for 10 weeks) or a monthly class (once a month for 12 months). When you sign up for a class that is Closed Registration/Commitment Based (ie: Dina Wakley Art Journal, Planner Club, Dylusions) you will be required to sign a "Confidential Class Enrollment Agreement" that outlines the period of commitment, the payment schedule, missed class accountability AND provide a valid credit card number to keep your commitment current/up-to-date. This agreement should be signed on the first day of class.
If you **miss** your Closed Registration class, you are still required to pay for it and you will receive a kit with the paper and ephemera used in that class. This type of class is not "Attendance Based" - it is a commitment. Your credit card will be manually charged for the next class. You will always be required to pay for the next class so you are always paid one class ahead. Every month we will have a "Catch-up" class on a Saturday for your re-coupement. There will be a nominal fee of $10/member in attendance, subject to change. Pre-registration is required for this offering. We will need to know what layouts/projects you will be working on upon registering so the instructor can have the required stamps and mediums available for you. A 3 month window is the cut-off for projects to be caught up. With this being said, we will NOT be allowing drop-ins to complete unfinished/unattended classes in the workshop during the weekdays which would undoubtedly use the retail staffs' time ineffectively. All of the supplies/materials are put away safely after each class to maintain a semblance of order in our classroom and workshop area. As a current member, you can still use the workshop to work on your own creations.
Thank you for your acceptance of our policies. By outlining the expectations, all patrons are treated equally and fairly.
